Frequently Asked Questions
Have a question for our panel of doctors? Want to know if it’s time for your next checkup and cleaning? Curious if we’ll accept your dental insurance? Below, you find answers to these and other common questions our patients ask us every day. If you still have a question after reading through this page, please give us a call and ask! We’re always more than happy to take extra time to make sure you understand your dental care.
How often should I visit the dentist?
Our own doctors, as well as the American Dental Association, recommend that patients of all ages should visit their dentist at least twice a year for a checkup and cleaning in order to keep their teeth healthy and avoid preventable dental problems such as tooth decay, cavities, gum disease, and more.
Why do I need a dental cleaning even if I brush & floss my teeth every day?
Great question! The simple answer is that your brush and floss just aren’t able to clean all of the surfaces on your teeth, and these hard to reach spots can accumulate plaque that can lead to cavities. A cleaning by one of our hygienists can target these areas and make sure your smile is protected year round.
How will you repair my decayed/damaged tooth?
If your tooth only has a small amount of damage, we’ll likely be able to repair it with a tooth-colored filling. If it needs a little more help, however, we may choose to use a dental crown. In either case, we’ll make sure your newly restored tooth will look good as new!
Can you replace my missing teeth?
We certainly can! We have a variety of restorative solutions, including the most advanced tooth replacement available today: dental implants. They’re able to rebuild an entire tooth from the root up and can be used to replace a single tooth, multiple teeth, or even an entire row of teeth.
Will my appointment cause me pain?
Many patients are nervous about visiting the dentist, and that’s okay. Our team will work hard to ensure your comfort at every visit by keeping you fully informed and using a gentle touch. And, when the situation calls for it, we can also use local anesthetic or nitrous oxide sedation to protect you from any discomfort.
Can you give me a whiter smile?
With our choice of either in-office or take-home teeth whitening, we can give you a smile that’s 8-10 shades whiter in no time!
Will you accept my dental insurance?
We accept dental insurance plans from many of the nation’s largest providers, and we always work to get the most out of your benefits at every visit. To learn how we can use your particular plan to help you save, please contact us today.
